The following essential maintenance works are planned for the A483 between Junction 4 (Ruthin Road) to Junction 6 (Gresford Roundabout) on the northbound and southbound carriageways.

The filter drain works are required to maintain the effectiveness of the highway drainage system and are part of an ongoing maintenance programme.

The resurfacing works are required to replace lengths of defective and life expired carriageway surface. Street lighting, traffic sign and safety barrier works will be incorporated within these works.

The works are programmed to be undertaken from Monday 23 January until Thursday 16 March. The resurfacing works will commence during the week commencing 13 February.

The resurfacing work will be carried out overnight, 7 nights per week, to ensure that disruption to the travelling public is kept to a minimum.

The filter drainage works have been are completed.

During the morning and up until mid afternoon of Tuesday 7 February, lane closures will be in place on both the north and southbound carriageways. These are required to facilitate the assessment of the carriageway prior to the commencement of the resurfacing works.

From Monday night 13 February for a period of up to 5 weeks, resurfacing works will be carried out overnight during full carriageway closures, commencing with the southbound carriageway. For safety reasons, some slip road closures will be necessary to facilitate the works. All diversions will be signed via the local county network. During this period all lanes and slip roads will be open to traffic during the day. However, there will be a speed restriction in place on the main carriageways.

Information boards and variable message signs will be erected to aid driver awareness and provide information.
